In this step is where I apply Painting with Light or I smooth the skin in people. You can use any method and any number of layers to get the picture look best. For this step, I’m more worried about the color balance AND the highlights/shadows. You can do that from your software and favorite method Since I use Photoshop, I prefer doing it in ACR. Adjust white balance, exposure, color saturation, contrast, etc. Here is my process for what I call Topaz Real Color When I'm not looking for special effects, I just mask or create different layers for skin. I must admit that I have found portraits the one thing that do not benefit from Topaz!īut I do like the effects you have managed here, particularly on the hair of the two ladies, it's a technique I will have to try out, probably after selecting the hair though! But the main effect is achieved through TA's 'simplify' and 'vibrance' presets. In the 2 other pics, I continued to experiment with other effects, I sometimes add a levels adjustment or use unsharp mask to accent highlights or I may use a softening action, basically experimenting until I'm happy with the results. You can see the results of just this much editing in the last example posted below (of the guy flashing the peace sign). Next, use Topaz Adjust's "Vibrance" preset and adjust the sliders way down, This brings back some of the detail and shading to the simplified image. I ususally run Topaz Adjust "simplify" preset (adjust sliders down) or you could use TA's noise reduction tab or you can try any noise reduction plug-in and adjust it too high.ģ. The idea here is to remove most of the finer detail so that in the next stage, the "Vibrance" effect will not make the photo look unnaturally sharp. I use this mainly for portraits to get a smooth, glowing effect.įirst: of course, always make a copy of the original file and work with.Ģ.Smooth out the image. I'll start off with a very simple one that has had some good results for me. after it’s done rendering, go to the bottom of the layers and make sure the first layer is selected, then delete it.Anyone have any hints or tips they'd like to share?.now topaz will begin to render (applying the filter to all the frames) so u just gotta wait.select ‘convert frames’Ĭonvert frames > flatten frames into clips then convert frames to layers by clicking the button at the top right edge of the frame animation window:.after you’re done the layer will look like this: next go to filters > topaz labs > topaz clean.then select all the layers and convert them to smart filters.depending which version of ps you have, it might be in a different locationĪfter converting frames to timeline, it will look like this: do this by clicking the button i circled. the first thing you have to do is convert the gif frames to video timeline.just play around with the settings and find whichever ones you like the best! Note: my settings vary often so sometimes instead of using both clean and denoise i’ll use only one or ill switch up the order and do denoise first etc etc. after that close the photoshop program again and turn the WiFi back on.Ĭongrats u just successfully downloaded topaz!! you should then be prompted to input the serial code!! do this process again for denoise. to open topaz you have to have something on the canvas (whether its a photo or gif frames, etc) so open up a random photo from your computer and go to filters > topaz labs > topaz clean. to enter the serial codes, ps should prompt you when you open topaz.to bypass that we will enter the serial codes you copied/took a screenshot of earlier. then select the folder with topaz in it! now you will have a 30 day free trial. to do this just got to preferences > plug ins. depending on which version of photoshop you have, topaz labs will either automatically appear in the filters tab of ps (photoshop) or you’ll have to add it manually. it is very crucial that you turn off your WiFi before setup and before you input the serial codes as well. After topaz clean and denoise are done downloading, you will be prompted to setup.don’t just minimize the page literally close the program then make sure you close out of photoshop (if it is open).while theyre downloading, copy & paste the corresponding serial codes from this website into notepad or take a screenshot: (if these codes don’t work just search around for alternate codes on tumblr or youtube).download which topaz products you want from this website: (so in our case, clean and denoise).Sure! i’ll explain how to download it, my settings, and how to make gifs using topaz
